Lasuni gobi recipe - Cauliflower with garlic

What you need
  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, separated into small florets;
  • 3 tbsp crushed garlic;
  • 1 tbsp minced/grated fresh ginger;
  • 1 tomato, pureed;
  • pinch of turmeric powder;
  • ¼ tsp red chilli powder;
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper;
  • salt per taste;
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder;
  • ½ tsp garam masala;
  • oil;
  • few fresh cilantro leaves/coriander leaves, to garnish.
Method
  1. Take a frying pan and heat some oil, on medium heat. Add the cauliflower and stir fry it for about 3 minutes. Let the cauliflower brown in spots. Remove the cauliflower on a plate and set aside.
  2. In the same pan add little more oil. Add garlic and ginger and cook few minutes, until the garlic gets brown in color.
  3. Add tomato, salt and all the powder spices except for garam masala. Stir fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Now bring the cauliflower florets into the pan, stir gently to mix and cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook, on low medium heat, for about 25 minutes, until cauliflower gets soft and cooked.
  5. Lastly, sprinkle some garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro/coriander leaves.
