Indian spicy sauteed okra and green peppers recipe

What you need
  • 25-30 okra;
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds;
  • 1 big onion, chopped;
  • 2 big green peppers;
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, crushed;
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder;
  • ½ tsp cumin powder;
  • 1 tsp coriander powder;
  • ¼ tsp red chilli powder;
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice;
  • 1 tsp garam masala;
  • fresh coriander leaves, chopped;
  • salt;
  • oil.
Method
  1. Chop onions, okra and green pepper into big pieces and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start crackle, add chopped onions, crushed garlic and green pepper. Let it fry for about 4 minutes, on medium flame.
  3. Add okra, mix well and let it cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  4. Now add all spices except garam masala, stir fry for another 5 minutes or until okra gets tender.
  5. Add salt and lemon juice, sprinkle garam masala stir fry for 3 minutes more.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
